Panelists:

Amanda Vanden Hoek, PhD - Senior Product Manager, Immunology (Business Operations Products)

Amanda Vanden Hoek is a Senior Product Manager, overseeing STEMCELL's Immunology product portfolio. She obtained a PhD in protein biochemistry from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. She joined STEMCELL in 2012, where she has held various marketing and product management roles. In her current role, she leads a team of product managers focused on expanding STEMCELL’s cell separation and immunology product portfolio.

Joseph Yawe, PhD - Manager, Inside Sales, Cell Culture Products (Sales)

Joseph Yawe holds a PhD in Biomedical Science from UMASS Medical School in Worcester Massachusetts. He’s worked in inside sales at STEMCELL for four years. Starting as an inside sales representative, he moved to a Team Lead position and finally a manager role for the last two years. His team supports our cell culture and media products portfolio.

Brett Eyford, PhD - Senior Scientist (Research & Development)

I am a biochemist specializing in the expression, study and use of antibodies and other recombinant proteins. I earned a PhD at the University of Victoria while studying the proteomics and life cycle of a neglected tropical disease (African Sleeping Sickness). During my post-doc, I worked on cancer drug discovery, neuro-immunology, Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis and drug delivery to the brain. Discovery and publishing is fun, but I made the jump to industry in 2018 to be closer to the real-world application of science. At STEMCELL Technologies, I oversee the RND of recombinant protein production. The proteins we make end up in products sold all around the world.

Christine Genge, PhD - Manager, Recruitment (North America) (Human Resources)

Christine first joined STEMCELL Technologies as a Scientific Inside Sales Representative after completing her PhD in molecular cardiac physiology at SFU in 2016. A pilates teacher in her spare time, Christine has a knack for connecting and engaging with people. She has now combined this talent with her scientific expertise as she heads up the Talent Acquisition Team at STEMCELL. Having transitioned from an academic research background into industry, she is passionate about helping STEMCELL grow through bringing in others committed to moving science forward.
